Trick or Treat

Willow's first Halloween Trick or Treating. She had a blast.

Look at those matching red eyes, spooky!

Dragon dress-up

I think madam may have prefered her Dragon costume we found at the swap shop. She was certainly a lot happier wearing this one.

Happy Halloween

Finally Willow gets to wear her owl costume. We had a little Halloween dress up at the swap shop http://www.sunnysideswapshop.org/wp/  this morning with our lil' buddies.
Sad lil' Owl. She wasn't too happy about posing for our photo's so it was almost impossible to get any decent snaps. But i do love this photo, the colours make it look like its from the 1970's.

And seeing that we didn't really have the time to do our own costumes this year, here are a couple of recent-ish zombie snaps.  I cant wait til we can dress Willow up like a zombie.
Happy Halloween

Modernist Dollhouse

I've been thinking about dollhouse's recently for Willow's 3rd birthday. I know its a long way off but i may just end up needing the time to make one, i unfortunately generally seem to like the ones that are a little pricey.
Villa Sibi Modernist Dollhouse by Wolfgang Sirch.
Its inspired by the architecture of Mies van der Rohe, the house comes with plexiglass sliding doors, beech furnishings, a kitchen island, indoor swimming pool and shower. Surely its way too cool for a little one to play with.

I found this picture of a prototype of a modern dollshouse designed and built by an architect-cabinet
maker team. The designs were based on modern houses by Le Corbusier, Mies, Neutra, Ellwood, Breuer, Eames and the Case Study houses.

                                                              Again a mere $1000.00

Hase Weiss portable mobile dollhouse.
Consisting of four 'rooms, stairs and some door details, this portable, mobile doll house can be painted and arranged in multiple ways and comes in a carrying case.
                                                   A little more affordable at 296.00 euro's

The Ding 3 Playtower  is a multi-functional contemporary modern dollhouse with a facade made of plexiglas panels or silkscreened wooden sliding walls. It's available for $338 for two floors and $142 for each additional floor at http://www.spunkysprout.com/plthar.html.

Or there's always good ole Plan toys. Their modern dollhouse is a lot more affordable at $120 including the furniture.Available at  http://www.theultimategreenstore.com/p-280-contemporary-doll-house.aspx

Cute animal dresses

From Wildthing Dresses at Etsy   http://www.etsy.com/shop/wildthingsdresses?ref=seller_info .A snip at £34.00. Love.

A new project?

Now that i've finished Willow's halloween costume and hobbyhorse i have been wondering what to start on next. These are the options
1. A Growth Chart
2. Some cushions (i've seen some great log shaped ones that i fancy trying my hand at)
3. A bird mobile
4. Wooden toy/dressing up box
I'm thinking it might be the growth chart.

The Park and Muffins

Thursday mornings is our usual date with Sally and Niko at Piccillo Park. These guys are becoming great friends, its so sweet watching their friendship develop. They seem to love hanging out together.

Eating lunch

In the afternoon we made some wholemeal carrot and pineapple muffins. I always use an Annabel Karmel recipe. The muffins are always really moist and they don't feel too unhealthy to eat.

                                                            The seal of approval. Yummy
The recipe

100g / 4oz plain flour
100g / 4oz plain wholemeal flour
1tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
200 ml / 7floz vegetable oil
90 g / 3 1/2oz caster sugar
2 eggs
120 g / 4 1/2oz finely grated carrots
225 g / 8oz tinned crushed pineapple, semi-drained
100 g / 4oz raisins

Pre-heat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4.
Sift together the flours, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda,
cinnamon and salt and mix well. Beat the oil, sugar and eggs until well
blended. Add the grated carrots, crushed pineapple and raisins.
Gradually add the flour mixture, beating just enough to combine all the
ingredients.
Pour the batter into muffin trays lined with paper cases and bake for
25 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
