Scootin and Paintin

We ventured out in the cold this afternoon for a bit of scooter action. What happened to the summer? It seemed like only yesterday we were sweltering and complaining about the 100+ degree heat. It's really starting to feel wintery now. Whatever are we going to do with ourselves as the Portland cold and rain start closing in for the next 6 months.

When we got back home we decided to try some leaf prints.Willow picked the colours and got to work on painting the leaves and branches we had collected.  She wasn't too bothered with the printing part and so it slowly turned into hand and finger painting.

Why would i paint leaves when i have hands to paint?

Will starts pre-school next week so we have a supplies list that I really have to get onto. One of the required items is a family picture in a picture frame so i thought we would make one today. I cut out the card and madam decorated. Now we just have to find a photo of all three of us.

Our new haunt the Laurelhurst Cafe http://laurelhurstcafe.com/ has just started doing arts and crafts on thursday mornings. Our usual swap with Liam was cancelled this week so we thought we'd check it out. Today was pottery.

 

The finished pot (before madam dropped it on the floor, now it has a lovely concrete texture on one side). Its been baking in the sun all day so we can hopefully paint it tomorrow.
