 The little mermaid is ready for the big day

New Sofa

Crate and Barrel Taraval sofa. Our first purchase for the new house. Comfort over looks wins in this contest. I have had eyes on the West Elm Crosby sofa for a while but it just didn't cut it on the comfort front. A sofa's gotta be comfy, right? But how i love that Crosby.

It sure is beautiful this time of year. We went for a wander through our new neighborhood this afternoon to take in the unseasonably hot weather. It has been a glorious end to the summer with temperatures hitting 75 F today and it looks like staying the same all week. Lucky us.

Last dress of the summer

I started this Oliver and S Tea Dress a while back. It came to a halt when my machine refused to to saw button holes or anything other than a straight stitch. I have been promising myself that i will get it fixed when i have a little downtime in between projects. But they just keep coming. First it was the pirate vests, the ongoing mermaid costume and now, after moving, i have to re-hem all the curtains again. It seems as though there is never any downtime. It really doesn't look like my ole machine is going to get fixed anytime soon. So in a last ditched attempt to get some wear out of this cute little summer dress before the weather closes in or madam grows out of it, i opted instead for some pop snaps. 

Is it that time of year already?

Halloween is rolling around fast and i really must get going with Willow's costume. This year she finally decided, after much toing and froing between either Captain Barnicals or Peso from the Oconauts,  on a mermaid with pink hair.
