The Pirates and the Mermaids

Willow's preschool class had their family night this evening. The class have been working together on this project for a few weeks now and tonight was the big performance. They wrote the story and songs and made the decorations. Willow has been revealing little snippets of information but its been impossible to find out exactly what they have been up to, so i really had no idea what to expect.  To be honest i don't think Willow even knew what to expect, she looked completly terrified during the whole performance.

It was the darkest part of the night and the pirates were sleeping. The wave woke them up.

 And the shark planned on biting them, opening and closing its teeth.

 They find gold and jewels and gold coins and dinosaur bones

 Then they make music with the merpeople together because they are happy they found gold

The End. Thank goodness that is over, now i can play outside with my friends

Happy Anniversary fella

Beach

We decided on a last minute jolly out to Cannon beach today. We booked a hotel room last week but had been umming and ahhing about whether to go or not as the weather had been slowly deteriorating all week. A trip out to the Oregon coast is pretty wild and windy on the best of days so it wasn't looking too good if Portland was anything to go by. We decided to give it a shot, for lack of anything else to do, and went prepared. Donning our rain gear, wellies, wooly hats and gloves we ventured out onto the beach. Lucky for us, the horizontal rain and blustery winds kept most people at bay so we had Cannon Beach all to ourselves. Willow even learned how to fly a kite.

Birthday Bash

Yesterday Claire, Willows school buddy had her 4th birthday party at the park. They had a great time running themselves silly for nearly 3 hours. Spirits were still high when, in true Portland style, the heavens opened with torrential rain. Luckily it didn't linger for too long and much to the kids delight, left some great puddles for splashing around in.
